The Three Rivers College Foundation paid tribute to Christopher Jewell at the Annual Golf Classic held on Monday May 23 at the Great Neck Country Club in Waterford.

Jewell is the Chief Financial Officer/Principal of Collins & Jewell Company, Inc. and is retiring from the Three Rivers College Foundation Board of Trustees after 10 years of service.

He is a key player in the vital manufacturing pipeline he helped establish through the state-of-the-art Three Rivers Manufacturing Learning Center at Grasso Tech. The pipeline provides job training and gainful employment to residents of Eastern Connecticut.

At the Golf Classic Dinner Reception, Foundation Board Chair Dr. Mark Tramontozzi announced that Three Rivers nursing student Samantha Venturo was awarded the Christopher Jewell Scholarship. This unique scholarship recognizes a student who values education, is committed to their community, and committed to serving others.

In addition, Board Member and Senator Cathy Osten presented an official General Assembly Citation that honored her exemplary service to the Board.

Every Friday at Collins & Jewell, employees wear Hawaiian shirts – a testament to Jewell’s unique ability to combine a successful business with a fun work environment. The board presented Chris with a Hawaiian shirt to add to his collection at the reception.
