Captain Al Suwaidi clarified that the center consists of two buildings, the first is reserved for men and includes six counters. The other building serves women and has five counters. The center operates every weekday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a capacity to handle up to 2,000 tests per day and the process takes just 2 to 3 minutes, the official said.

Captain Al Suwaidi urged all Emiratis and government service employees in Sharjah to perform PCR tests periodically to safeguard their health and safety.

Meanwhile, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said many places have been designated to carry out COVID-19 tests in Sharjah for Emiratis and other residents. The Central Region, Eastern Region including Centers for Citizens of Suburb Councils, Al Siouh Suburb, Al Rahmaniyah, Wasit, Mughaider Suburb and Al Arabi Club in Al Majaz are where these tests can be carried out.

In addition, there are special centers for workers in Al Sajja and a center in the Eastern region as well. PCR tests are also carried out in some buildings of the Sharjah Police General Command.

Major General Al Shamsi also informed that the location of the pathological laboratory will also be moved to Al Ramtha to reduce the waiting time for test results and also to accommodate priority categories especially students.
